2. General provisions
2.1. These General Terms and Conditions (Terms) govern the relationship between the Provider and the person buying in the taptap.hu webshop (Customer), as well as the use of the digital profile service.
2.2. A consumer is a natural person acting outside their trade, profession or business. Consumer rights (withdrawal, the special rules on warranty, conciliation boards) apply to consumers only; for purchases by companies or sole traders the general rules of the Hungarian Civil Code apply.
2.3. Matters not covered by these Terms are governed by Act V of 2013 on the Civil Code (Ptk.), Act CVIII of 2001 on electronic commerce services (Ekertv.), Act CLV of 1997 on consumer protection (Fgytv.), Government Decree 45/2014 (II. 26.) on the detailed rules of contracts between consumers and businesses, and Government Decree 373/2021 (VI. 30.) on consumer contracts for the sale of goods and the supply of digital content and digital services.
2.4. The language of the contract is Hungarian. The contract is concluded electronically and counts as a declaration made in writing; the Provider records orders electronically, and the contract can later be consulted from the confirmation e-mail and these Terms. The Provider has not subscribed to a code of conduct.
2.5. By placing an order the Customer declares that they have read and accept these Terms. The Terms are always available on the website and can be downloaded and printed.
3. Products, prices, discounts
3.1. The webshop sells business cards in credit-card size (85.6 × 54 mm) with an NFC chip and a printed QR code, made individually with the Customer's details and design (Black, White and Freedom). Every card comes with a free digital profile (my.taptap.hu) (see section 9).
3.2. The product page shows the main features, the price and the available options (layout, how the design is made, quantity, spare card). Product photos and renders are illustrations; the final card is made according to the approved mock-up.
3.3. Prices are in Hungarian forints and are final prices. The Provider is exempt from VAT as a small business (Chapter XIII of Act CXXVII of 2007 on VAT) and does not charge VAT; invoices carry the “AAM” (VAT-exempt) mark. VAT invoices and VAT reclaims are therefore not possible. Shipping within Hungary is free; the Customer pays no other costs.
3.4. Volume discount: 10% from 5 cards, 15% from 10 cards, 20% from 25 cards, deducted automatically in the bag; above 50 cards we give a custom quote. The discount depends on the number of cards ordered; spare cards do not count toward it and get no volume discount. Spare cards (same design) can be ordered at the reduced price shown on the website, at most as many per finish as the cards the Customer orders in that finish. Other discounts cannot be combined unless the website expressly says so.
3.5. Card design (creating the mock-up) is free with every order. “Worth 35 000 Ft” refers to the usual fee for the design service, which the Customer does not have to pay.
3.6. If an obviously wrong price appears on the website through the Provider's error (for example far below the usual price, or 0 Ft), the Provider is not obliged to supply the product at that price; it offers the real price, and knowing it the Customer may withdraw from the order.
4. How ordering works
4.1. The Customer chooses the card and options, adds them to the bag, then at checkout enters their contact, delivery and billing details and chooses a payment method.
4.2. Before sending the order the Customer can check and correct the details, the bag and the total on the summary. The Provider is not liable for input errors the Customer did not correct despite the opportunity.
4.3. By pressing “Pay” the Customer makes an offer with an obligation to pay. The Provider confirms receipt of the order by e-mail without delay. The contract is concluded when the confirmation reaches the Customer. If no confirmation arrives within 48 hours, the Customer is released from the offer.
5. Payment and invoice
5.1. Payment methods: card payment on SimplePay's secure payment page, as well as Apple Pay and Google Pay. The Provider neither sees nor stores card details.
5.2. The Provider issues an electronic invoice through Számlázz.hu and sends it by e-mail. An invoice in a company's name can be requested at checkout by choosing “Company” (company name, tax number).
5.3. For team quotes, the payment method and deadline are set out in the accepted quote.
6. Design, production, shipping
6.1. After payment the Provider e-mails a link to a short form, where the Customer enters the details for the card and uploads their logo, or sends their own print-ready PDF.
6.2. Based on these details the Provider creates a mock-up and e-mails it for approval. The Customer may approve it or ask for changes. Production starts only after the Customer's express approval; the Provider is not liable for content in the approved design (e.g. a misspelt name or phone number).
6.3. The Customer warrants that they are entitled to use the logo, images and other content they supply and that it does not infringe third-party rights or the law. The Provider may refuse to produce infringing or unlawful content.
6.4. If, despite a reminder, the Customer does not provide the details needed for the design or the approval within 30 days, the Provider gets in touch by e-mail; the delivery deadline is extended by the time the Customer's cooperation takes.
6.5. Delivery deadline: the Provider ships the product based on the mock-up approved by the Customer, at the latest within 30 days of the contract, unless the delay is due to the Customer's lack of cooperation (section 6.4). If the Provider misses the deadline, the Customer may set an additional period and, if that is also missed, withdraw from the contract.
6.6. Delivery is by courier within Hungary, free of charge. Courier: GLS General Logistics Systems Hungary Csomag-Logisztikai Kft. (2351 Alsónémedi, GLS Európa u. 2.). The risk passes to the Customer when they or a person they designate receive the product.
7. Right of withdrawal
7.1. Under section 20 of Government Decree 45/2014 (II. 26.), consumers generally have a 14-day right of withdrawal without giving reasons. However, under section 29(1)(c) of Government Decree 45/2014, consumers have no right of withdrawal for goods that are not prefabricated, are made according to the consumer's instructions or at their express request, or are clearly personalised for the consumer.
7.2. A taptap card is always made individually from the name, details, logo or own design provided by the Customer and contains a unique QR code pointing to the Customer's personal profile, so the 14-day right of withdrawal does not apply to its purchase. The Customer is also informed of this at checkout before sending the order.
7.3. Voluntary commitment: until the mock-up is approved, the Customer may cancel the order free of charge, and the Provider refunds the full price within 14 days.
7.4. Excluding the right of withdrawal does not affect the Customer's rights in case of defective performance (section 8).
8. Defective performance, warranty
Warranty
8.1. In case of defective performance the Customer may assert a warranty claim: primarily repair or replacement, unless this is impossible or would involve disproportionate extra cost. If they did not or could not ask for repair or replacement, they may ask for a proportionate price reduction or, as a last resort, withdraw from the contract. Withdrawal is not possible for an insignificant defect.
8.2. Consumers must report a defect without delay after discovering it. Under a consumer contract, warranty claims can be made within two years of delivery. For a defect discovered within one year of delivery, it is presumed, unless proven otherwise, that it already existed at delivery (Government Decree 373/2021).
Product liability
8.3. For a defect in movable goods the consumer may choose between a warranty claim and a product liability claim. Under product liability they may only ask the manufacturer to repair or replace the defective product, within two years of it being placed on the market. A product is defective if it does not meet the quality requirements in force when it was placed on the market, or lacks the properties in the manufacturer's description.
Guarantee
8.4. No mandatory guarantee applies to the product by law, and the Provider gives no voluntary guarantee. The Customer has the warranty rights under sections 8.1–8.3.
Procedure
8.5. Warranty claims can be made at support@taptap.hu or at the Provider's postal address, quoting the order number. The Provider records the claim and sends the record to the consumer electronically. The Provider aims to complete repair or replacement within 15 days. Costs of the warranty claim (e.g. shipping) are borne by the Provider.
9. The digital profile
9.1. The Customer can create and edit the digital profile (my.taptap.hu) free of charge in the account they receive with the card. The profile opens in the visitor's browser when the card is tapped or the QR code is scanned.
9.2. The profile owner is responsible for the content on the profile (details, images, links). Unlawful, infringing, misleading or unsolicited commercial content is prohibited. In such cases the Provider may restrict or suspend the profile after a warning, or immediately in serious cases.
9.3. The Provider aims to keep the profile available at all times but does not guarantee uninterrupted operation, except for reasonable maintenance and causes beyond its control (e.g. internet or hosting failures). The rules of Government Decree 373/2021 on digital services also apply to the profile service.
9.4. The Customer may delete their account at any time; the profile then becomes unavailable and the card no longer opens a profile. If a card is lost, the profile can be switched off in the account. The Provider charges no separate fee for the profile; it is included in the price of the card. The Provider maintains the profile for an indefinite period, for as long as it provides the service; if it ends the service, it notifies the Customer by e-mail at least 90 days in advance.
10. Complaints and remedies
10.1. You can raise a complaint at support@taptap.hu, by phone at +36 20 228 8829 or by post at 1171 Budapest, Bögöte utca 5. The Provider answers written complaints in writing and on the merits within 30 days, giving reasons if it rejects them. Records of complaints and copies of the replies are kept for the period required by law.
10.2. If the complaint cannot be settled, consumers can turn to:
- Consumer protection authority: the county (capital) government office competent for the consumer's place of residence. In Budapest: Budapest Főváros Kormányhivatala Fogyasztóvédelmi Főosztály, 1117 Budapest, Prielle Kornélia u. 4/B., fogyasztovedelem@bfkh.gov.hu.
- Conciliation board: the Budapest Conciliation Board, competent for the Provider's seat: 1016 Budapest, Krisztina krt. 99. I. em. 111., postal address: 1253 Budapest, Pf. 10., bekelteto.testulet@bkik.hu, +36 1 488 2131, bekeltet.bkik.hu. Consumers may also ask for proceedings at the conciliation board of their place of residence. The Provider is obliged to cooperate in conciliation board proceedings.
- Court: the court competent under the rules of civil procedure.
10.3. The European Union's online dispute resolution (ODR) platform closed on 20 July 2025, so it can no longer be referred to.
11. Intellectual property
11.1. All content of the website (texts, graphics, logos, photos, code) is the Provider's intellectual property or used lawfully; it may not be copied or used without prior written permission.
11.2. For the logo and content supplied for the card, the Customer grants the Provider a non-exclusive licence to the extent needed to fulfil the order (design, production, re-orders). The Provider may show the Customer's card as a reference only with the Customer's separate consent.
12. Final provisions
12.1. The Provider may amend these Terms unilaterally; amendments apply to orders placed after publication. The Provider notifies users by e-mail in advance of material changes affecting the digital profile service.
12.2. If any provision of these Terms is invalid, the validity of the other provisions is not affected.
12.3. The contract is governed by Hungarian law. For consumers this does not remove the protection given by the mandatory laws of the country of their habitual residence.
Previous version: Terms in force from 26 June 2023 (archive).
