Many names, one thing
You’ll see it under several names: NFC business card, electronic business card, smart business card or QR code business card. They all mean the same thing: a physical card that opens your digital profile.
How does it work?
- Tap: you touch the card to the back of a phone. The phone’s NFC reader recognises the chip and opens your profile link.
- Profile: your contact page opens in the browser: photo, name, title, company, phone, email, website and social profiles.
- Save: with one tap, your contact is saved to their phone.
If a phone can’t read NFC, any camera can scan the QR code on the back, and the same profile opens.
Do I need an app?
No, neither you nor the person you share it with. The profile is a web page that opens on any phone. You edit your details in your Account, in the browser.
Does it work on iPhone and Android?
iPhone: iPhone XS and newer read NFC in the background without an app: just touch the card to the top of the phone. On older iPhones, the QR code does the job.
Android: most Android phones have NFC, usually in the middle of the back. If nothing happens, switch NFC on in the settings, or use the QR code.
Step by step, phone by phone: NFC on iPhone and Android.
What’s on the digital profile?
- profile and cover photo, name, title, company
- phone, email, website, address
- social profiles (LinkedIn, Instagram, Facebook…) and other links
- a save-contact button that adds you to their phone’s contacts
- a “Swap contacts” button, so people can send you their details too
- Hungarian and English: visitors switch with one tap
Whatever you change shows on your profile straight away. The card never needs reprinting. How to set up your profile →
Contact exchange: they send you theirs too
Contact exchange works both ways: you share your details, and the other person can send you theirs. Your profile shows a “Swap contacts” button. Anyone who opens your card adds their name and a phone number or email, plus their company and a short message if they like.
- we email you straight away, and replying to that email writes to them directly
- in your Account, the Contacts list keeps everyone: search it, call or email with one tap, or save a contact to your phone
- you can download the list to Excel
- if they add their email, we send them your contact card once

Digital or paper business card?
A box of 100 paper cards costs money too, and every new phone number, title or colleague means printing again. You buy a digital business card once, and the details update on the profile. People save your contact instead of typing it in, so it doesn’t get lost in a drawer.
Free digital business card or an NFC card?
Many apps offer free digital business cards, but most are just a QR code or a link, often with paid extras. An NFC business card is a real card with your logo: you hand it over, it works with one tap, and it’s yours for a one-time price. Full comparison →
How much does it cost?
taptap cards have a one-time price, shown on the Cards page. Every order includes design worth 35 000 Ft and free shipping, with no monthly fee. Teams get a volume discount from 5 cards.
For companies
One card in your company branding, with a personal profile for everyone. When someone’s title or number changes, they update it themselves. A new colleague just needs a new card; the design is ready. For business →
Privacy
The card only opens your public profile: people see what you choose to show. Nobody gets into your Account, and you can change or delete your details at any time.
